Composer: Kim Scharnberg
Specialist in Orchestral Music

Kim Scharnberg was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and has enjoyed successful careers as a composer, arranger, orchestrator, conductor, record producer, and trombonist. He studied with famed arrangers and teachers Rayburn Wright and Manny Albam at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

Kim has worked with a wide variety of great singers, musicians, and bands around the world and his arrangements have been performed by numerous symphony orchestras including the Boston Pops and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. He orchestrated the Broadway shows Little Women (2005 Drama desk nomination), Jekyll & Hyde, the Scarlet Pimpernel and The Civil War and the London production of Doctor Dolittle.  Kim arranged and produced the music for the Aladdin Activity Center for Disney Interactive. He also co-wrote and co-produced the music for one of the first interactive CD-I projects for PolyGram/AIM. He is currently co-composing the music for the musical Poe with legendary artist/producer Alan Parsons. Kim has done orchestrations for several feature films such as A River Runs Through It, Quiz Show, Made In America, Fly Away Home, The Net, The Getaway, Fire In The Sky and Nowhere To Run. His television credits include Sledgehammer!, Dallas, Knot's Landing, Ed, Briscoe County, Jr., The Edge, Sliders, Party of Five, and three Incredible Hulk movies-of-the-week. Commercial and industrial clients include Corning Glass, Kodak, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Chase Manhattan Bank, DuPont, Xerox, United Way, Toyota, The Disney Channel, Columbia Tri-Star Home Video and dozens of theatrical trailers.

Kim was co-producer of the Grammy-nominated Jekyll & Hyde cast recording, Jekyll & Hyde-The Complete Work, Scarlet Pimpernel cast recording, Scarlet Pimpernel Encore!, The Civil War concept album and Linda Eder's Gold and Christmas Stays the Same (all for Atlantic Records). He is currently coproducing and arranging the Metal Messiah, a rock version of Handelís Messiah which will feature a recording, TV special and live touring show.
